Outdoor lifestyle and nature photographer based out of Terrebonne Oregon. My work focuses on the great outdoors and the people, products, and companies that share in its splendor.
When I was a younger, I was blessed with some amazing photography mentors; my father and my neighbors. While I did not know it at the time, the lessons I was learning would bring me a lifetime of joy, and a deep appreciation for the outdoors. During my younger years my father would take me on trips to some of the most amazing places on the west coast. One trip being to the majority of national parks as far east as South Dakota in a month long road trip. I will never forget the awe inspiring walls of Yosemite Valley, which as a child, and still to this day, leave me speechless.
When I was about 12 years old, I came to know my next door neighbors. They were a retired couple, both photographers. He shot large and medium format, and she mostly shot 35mm. They took me in, and taught me all the finer points of photography. It was here that I learned how to use a camera, how to frame a shot, and how to “see”. I remember her and I going on photography outings to nearby waterfalls, learning the art of the long exposure. Years later, these teachings are the basis for everything I do.
In 2012 I fell in love with mountaineering, which has given me a chance to get a new perspective on the mountains I have always stood in awe of. Since then I have focused my energy on spending more time getting to know more about how to get to the places many people, myself included, seldom get to see and experience. It is always my goal to get somewhere others haven’t shot from, to get a slightly different angle than others have, and to get to share it with the world.
